Scottish Election Warm up

I am going to do a long post on this subject (hell, I can't vote in this election , so at the least I can voice my opinion in the blogosphere). In the meantime here is a small podcast with photos from the Guardian. It is an interesting starting point - and has some beautiful pics of Edinburgh - although it is only focused on the capital. (there is a tendency in Scotland for some only to ever see the central belt - Edinburgh & Glasgow and the area in between - and forget there is a whole rest of the country).

For political ranting and disenfranchised expat raving, watch this space.

Sorry. I had to delete my comment because of a weird typo. Here it is corrected:

With my view of Scottish politics completely slanted by Edwin Morgan's writings (one does not spend a whole year studying his stuff without being somewhat influenced), I will merely poke out my otherwise uninformed little head to say that I hope this election (and oh yes, I WAS following it already) does not result in the Scots' losing what precious little autonomy in government they have so recently gained.
Sorry, Kirsty, if I've just insulted you politically.
But on the bright side, at least the Scots can't elect W. That's got to count for something....

I'll be interested to see what your thoughts are. I haven't been paying too much attention to the elections because I can't vote either. Even so, I should work on getting more informed because as long as I'm living here, the outcome is going to affect me.

Interesting podcast but seems to be aimed at English listeners hence only Edinburgh is mentioned. I have a postal vote and have just got my ballot papers through. For the list candidates (ie those elected by proportional representation) there are 16 different parties!! No Monster Raving Looney unfortunately. I'm pretty disillusioned and still haven't decided who I'm going to vote for.

I have just voted too due to having a postal vote. I find it very difficult to know what to do for the best. I'm probably not as informed about the whole thing as I should be but it will be interesting to see what happens.
